We select salmon from perfect conditions
Our salmon comes from cold, oxygen-rich waters, with natural tidal flow — conditions that are ideal for low disease pressure, and that ensure the fish grow at the right pace.

Every choice is made for the fish – from the holding tanks to the processing. Here's how we work to deliver the finest salmon.
How we work

Our salmon comes from cold, oxygen-rich waters, with natural tidal flow — conditions that are ideal for low disease pressure, and that ensure the fish grow at the right pace.
The fish is moved through the process by gravity flow, avoiding methods that pump and stress them. They are held in tanks on land filled with cold water, pumped straight from the sea right beside our facility.
Cooling the fish further keeps them calm. This is better for fish welfare, gives better better-textured meat and results in a cleaner process.
No batch averaging, no hidden variation. Every single fish is identified, measured and graded individually. Only fish that meets the Nova Sea quality standard makes it through.
The fish is brought to optimal temperature before packing, ensuring minimal residue and maximum freshness — from our plant to your location.
From planning to delivery, we stay ahead of problems — with proactive communication and fast resolution. The fish arrives well. Every time.

Our plant
Opened in 2026, the facility doubled our capacity without changing how we work. Quality is built in at every stage — new technology helps us safeguard food safety and fish welfare from intake to packing. Every fish is kept calm throughout the process, because a salmon that is treated well tastes better.

Our vision
Ever since salmon first arrived on Lovund, fish welfare has been the starting point. It is the balance, between people, fish and the environment, that has kept this island alive for decades. What's good for the fish is what keeps Lovund thriving. That's a commitment we're carrying into the future.
Our certifications page gives you an overview of all our certifications. The ASC data we publish for each farm site — environmental samples, mortality, escapes, medicine use — lives on the facilities pages.
